A fiercely contested encounter played at cup-final intensity saw Arklow produce a hugely improved performance against strong Gorey opposition.

Trailing just 7–0 at half-time after an outstanding defensive effort, Arklow continued to battle relentlessly despite Gorey extending their lead to 14–0.

Jude Ivanoff crossed for a well-deserved try, converted by Donagh, to bring Arklow back into contention. Gorey added a penalty to make it 7-17, but Arklow fought right to the final whistle.

A massive effort from the entire pack, with our scrum again a real strength, while the backline defended brilliantly throughout.

POTM: Donagh — for his composure, control and leadership at out-half under constant pressure.

A performance full of pride, passion and character. The boys can be immensely proud!
