Paul Howard Comes to Arklow - Fundraiser for Eimear

Multi-award-winning journalist, author and playwright Paul Howard will appear at Arklow Rugby Club on June 9 for a special fundraising evening in aid of Eimear Byrne’s life-saving surgery in America.

Best known as the creator of Ross O’Carroll-Kelly, Howard has become one of Ireland’s most recognisable satirical writers. His hugely successful series, centred around the fictional rugby-obsessed Dubliner, has produced 19 bestselling novels, sold more than one million copies and earned three Irish Book Awards.

Beyond the page, Howard has also enjoyed major success in theatre. His Ross O’Carroll-Kelly stage productions played to sell-out audiences in Dublin, Cork and Limerick, while his musicals ‘Anglo: The Musical’ and ‘Copper Face Jacks: The Musical’ became standout productions in Irish theatre, combining sharp social commentary with comedy and music.

The exclusive event at Arklow Rugby Club, hosted by the Arklow Writers Group, promises an entertaining and insightful evening as Howard reflects on his prolific career, his views on rugby, writing, journalism and life in modern Ireland. Audience members will also have the opportunity to put questions to him during an open Q&A session.

Admission is €10 either online or at the door, although attendees are encouraged to donate more in support of Eimear Byrne’s fundraising campaign. A raffle for signed copies of Howard’s books will also take place on the night.
